About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Jira Developer / Jira Administrator to lead the implementation, customization, integration, and administration of Atlassian Jira platforms within enterprise-level organizations. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), workflow automation, scripting, integrations, and governance frameworks across large-scale Agile and ITSM environments.
This role requires a technically strong professional who can collaborate closely with business stakeholders, Agile delivery teams, DevOps engineers, enterprise architects, and infrastructure teams to design scalable Jira solutions, optimize platform capabilities, and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead enterprise-wide Jira implementation, configuration, customization, and administration initiatives
- Design and manage complex Jira workflows, screens, schemes, permissions, issue types, custom fields, and dashboards
- Configure and administer Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence environments
- Develop custom Jira solutions using Groovy scripting, ScriptRunner, REST APIs, and Atlassian plugins
- Implement automation rules, SLA configurations, approval workflows, and notification schemes
- Integrate Jira with enterprise systems such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, Bitbucket, ServiceNow, CI/CD tools, - LDAP/SSO, and collaboration platforms
- Perform Jira migrations, upgrades, environment management, and platform optimization activities
- Establish Jira governance models, security controls, data management standards, and platform best practices
- Support Agile delivery teams by enabling Scrum/Kanban frameworks, sprint management, and reporting capabilities
- Build advanced dashboards, metrics, and executive reporting solutions for leadership and PMO teams
- Troubleshoot complex Jira platform issues and provide performance tuning recommendations
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and architecture teams to ensure platform stability, compliance, and scalability
- Provide end-user training, technical documentation, and ongoing platform support
Requirements
8+ years of overall IT industry experience
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on Jira administration and development experience

Experience implementing Jira solutions for large enterprise organizations with multiple business units and large user bases
